FAQ
What is Decidim?
Decidim is a free and open source participatory democracy platform for cities and organisations. But Decidim is more than a digital platform: it is a free and open project and infrastructure available to everyone, including code, documentation, design, training courses, a legal framework, collaborative interfaces, communities of users and facilitators, and a common vision.
What can a Decidim participant (user) do?
Decidim enables thousands of people to organise themselves democratically by making proposals, attending public meetings, promoting discussions on decision making, deciding through different forms of voting and monitoring the implementation of decisions.
What can a Decidim director do?
Easily configure participatory processes: do you want to develop a strategic plan? Or discuss new regulations? Or the construction of a new square or public building, with the perspective of improving the common good? Thanks to Decidim, you will be able to configure spaces for participation (petitions, assemblies, processes or consultations) and enrich them with the multiple components available (face-to-face meetings, surveys, proposals, votes, monitoring of results, comments and much more).
What is the social contract?
This is what we call our Code of Democratic Standards and Collaboration. All members of the community must subscribe to the Social Contract.
Do you provide free facilities to non-profit organisations?
We make the Agorasso platform available to non-profit organisations, allowing them to take ownership of a consultation space. This allows associations to launch a participative approach online free of charge and to become familiar with Decidim.
